DESCRIPTION	The Canyon De Chelly will be held October 18th through the 20th. Yah ah tee hay! THIS IS A JEEP ONLY EVENT LIMITED TO MEMBERS OF THE JEEP EXPEDITIONS GROUP ! In 2007 many called this the BEST off-road trip they have ever done! Our 1st trip was in the spring, this one will be in the fall to see the changing of the summer colors to fall colors. A truly different perspective of the Canyon yet with the 80 or so water crossings just for fun! In 1863, while the War Between the States raged in the East, legendary "Indian fighter" Kit Carson led a brutal campaign against the Navajo of the Southwest, whose raiding parties were seen as a threat by the United States government. One Navajo stronghold was Canyon de Chelly (pronounced "d'SHAY," from a Spanish mispronunciation of the Navajo name for the area, Tsegi), a colorful canyon near present-day Chinle, Arizona.
